Post by chihengyang »

Hi Jeff,

I’ve installed Sidecar app and have OBDLink MX+ plugged and connected.
This is my daily driver, so hopefully I could make some contribution.

BTW, could I also try Sidecar on my weekender, a 2020 Toyota Supra?

Internet connected vehicle: Yes

Yep!

Once you shoot me an export of your OBD logs I'll generate you a promo code and we can get started with onboarding :) https://sidecar.clutch.engineering/help ... -scan-logs

I ordered a Vgate iCar Pro 4.0 last weekend and will try Sidecar on my Supra when it arrives.
Plan to shift OBDLink MX+ back to Supra (acutally it's originally used on Supra to see OBD gauges:P) and use iCar Pro on X3.
Should be Okay I think?

Hi @jeff ,
just found the weather widget isn't updated.
Is any permission needed to be open?

Ah! This is a bug when trip logging is disabled. The trip logger was historically the heartbeat for updating the weather data but now that trip logging is disconnected I need to add a new mechanism for automatically updating the weather data as you drive. Thank you for reporting this! I will prioritize a fix for the next Sidecar release.

Thank you mate :D
No wonder it stays as "rainy & 27 degrees", the weather of the day I turned on trip logging.

Weather is now disconnected from the trip logger and will update as you drive with CarPlay :D https://www.threads.net/@featherless/post/DCD6cdeNHeN Fix will go out in the next Sidecar release.

Hi @jeff ,
Just try Sidecar on Supra.
The experience is very similar to X3, since it's basically a BMW, too lol.
BTW, I also found that I made a typo to Supra's VIN.
However, it seems that the VIN cannot be edited from garage page, so I delete the wrong one and add the correct one in setting page.
But the garage page isn't updated accordingly, and there shows 2 supra'20s now :(
Is there a way to correct it?

Oh, I just re-add the wrong VIN back to the setting page and force iCloud sync (not sure if this step matters), then delete the wrong VIN again.
Now the supra with wrong VIN disappeared from garage page :)
