POI pinning and discovery

Post by jeff »

Starting a thread to track the general POI pinning + discovery feature.

Sidecar currently uses the trip logger to build a database of locations you visit frequently, this information just isn't obviously shown in the UI anywhere (yet!). You can kind of see it in the trip log history view, but my intent is to show a single POI page with all of your visited locations ranked by # of visits.

I think the pin feature would be great to implement, it could be a way to see saved locations through the app and can also suggest locations to pin depending on how often you visit it. I would ditch Maps app and just use this since it integrates with every other feature this app has to offer

iOS Version: 18.1 dev beta 5
Apple Watch Available: YES
watchOS Version (if you have a watch): 10.4
Internet connected vehicle: No
OBD Device Available: YES
OBD Device model: TopScan, Zeus
Testing Availability: Daily
Time zone: EST
Additional Notes: I’m a software developer who supports great projects just like this one, would gladly help out with my cars data to develop this app further
