🕦 Polestar 2 OBD support

Post by davpel »

Hello, I’ve setup Sidecar for my 2024 Polestar 2 Long Range AWD. I have a Veepeak OBDCheck BLE scanner and I am able to connect to the app. However, it indicates that no VIN is detected and that there are no collectables to run. I noted in another post that you are seeking help regarding Polestar and that you want someone to enter a command sequence into the terminal. However, I can't access the terminal since I don't yet have a subscription.

Check your email :) Please confirm you're running v1.17.0 in the Settings > About page in Sidecar.

If you're not, please update and then try reconnecting again because v1.17.0 included support for the 29-bit CAN-ID which the Polestar might be speaking.

Either way, please send a copy of your OBD logs to the support email in my sig: https://sidecar.clutch.engineering/help ... -scan-logs

For getting the VIN, can you try running this command sequence in a Sidecar terminal:

Code: Select all

03
07
0A
0902

Let's try the following to see if we can figure out which protocol the Polestar wants to talk over OBD:

Code: Select all

ATWS
ATSP0
ATDPN

And then keep running ATDPN in a terminal until it settles on a protocol.

Marking the Polestar 2's OBD support as completely blocked until we find a way to get it to respond to some data. If someone with a Polestar can run the commands from the prior post:

Code: Select all

ATWS
ATSP0
ATDPN
ATDPN
ATDPN
ATDPN
ATDPN
ATDPN
ATDPN

this might help us identify which protocol the vehicle is speaking and then we can iterate forward from there.

Re: 🛑 [blocked on initial handshake] Polestar 2 OBD support

Looks like we got our first successful scan session today!

Seems the Polestar 2 is a 29-bit CAN vehicle.

Attached is the supported OBD parameters that should work with the vehicle. We're digging in with @dev30mb on the specific session where the car actually responded, as it doesn't seem to respond all the time.
