Given that we're not able to pull the VIN yet, we'll need to try a few standard options to see what approach lets us get the vehicle data. When you're connected to your car, open a Sidecar terminal and let's try the following command sequences:
Standard VIN request
We'll run this just to confirm it's not working:
Then let's try some other parameters to see if can we can pull data in general:
Code: Select all
ATSH797
ATFCSH797
ATFCSD300000
10C0
221304
221156
221103
221183
221205
22124E
22115D
221261
221262
221152
221151
221146
221255
And on another ECU:
Code: Select all
ATSH79B
ATFCSH79B
2101
2102
2104
2106
Once you've ran the above, shoot me another export of your OBD logs via email and I'll see if I can figure out where the VIN data is.

Ah! I think I found the VIN parameter actually. Try the following in a new Sidecar OBD terminal session:
If that doesn't return a response, try the following:
Code: Select all
ATSH797
ATFCSH797
ATFCSD300000
ATFCSM1
2181

Looping @tsprenk into this thread as another Leaf driver for fyi I've got a TestFlight build I'll send out tomorrow morning once it's approved which should improve the VIN detection flow for the Leaf.

Thanks Jeff! I’ll test the terminal commands either tonight or tomorrow. I’ll let you know.
According to my license plate data the car is from februari 2019.

Cool! v1.17.1-192 is waiting TestFlight review. Did you get the TestFlight invite?

Huzzah! Can you try again with the fallback vin behavior disabled (i.e. set it back to "None")? The scanner should be able to pick up the VIN automatically now.
If you can also send an export of your OBD logs that would be super helpful for testing/validation purposes! https://sidecar.clutch.engineering/help ... -scan-logs

Sure thing, I’ll try again without the fallback enabled tomorrow. If that doesn’t work I will try the terminal commands you mentioned earlier and afterwards send you the logs via email.

No need to try the terminal commands; I've optimistically baked the VIN request into the handshake sequence so it'll be enough to just try connecting without the fallback set
