A'ight take Sidecar/v1.16.3-180 for a spin. It has a new startup sequence that does a full reset before attempting to try the 29 bit protocol.

I see in the logs some successful polls for the VIN: are you going into the terminal and manually sending the 0902 command by chance? I'm realizing I need to put a marker in the logs to indicate whether the command is automatic or terminal-induced 😅

Yeah I manually ran 0902 and saw the vin returned but when I opened terminal and just scrolled up, I saw “No data” being returned when it was running it by itself

Seems like some kind of a timing issue then. I'll add some logic to let the scanner settle a bit.
