🕝 Hyundai Ioniq 6

Post by Danmartyn »

Hello, I’ve setup Sidecar for my 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 6. I bought a Vgate iCar Pro 2S Bluetooth 5.2 OBD2 Car Scan Tool for iPhone from Amazon but it doesn’t seem to work. When I open my Bluetooth settings it doesn’t show up. I’ve now ordered a Vgate vLinker MC+ Bluetooth OBD2 Car Diagnostic Scan Tool for iOS which is coming on Sunday.

Also any chance we can get an Ioniq 6 app icon?

Here are the OBD2 scanner and cable I tried that didn't work:

I also tried plugging the scanner directly into the port, but it wouldn't show up in the Bluetooth settings to connect to it. I ordered a different cable and scanner which are coming on Sunday, so I'll try those and provide feedback.

Looking on the Ioniq 6 subreddit, here's a list of scanners/apps that people have said works:
Scanners

  • Veepeak OBDCheck BLE+ Bluetooth 4.0 OBD II Scanner for iOS & Android, Car Diagnostic Code Reader Scan Tool for Universal OBDII/EOBD Vehicles

Apps

  • Car Scanner ELM OBD2

  • Car Scanner Pro

But no data parsed by the app. Error « no connectable elements to execute »

BTLE scanners often won't show up in your system settings' Bluetooth connector screen like you typically would find with e.g. headphones. Instead, you'll find the scanners listed in Sidecar's Settings > Your scanners page after you've enabled "Connect over BTLE". You'll need to make sure the scanner is plugged in and the car is turned on in order to connect successfully.

In some cases, the scanner might just not be visible to Sidecar though. I've ordered the model you mentioned and will test it tomorrow when it arrives :)

I've just ported the IONIQ 5 pids over because they're likely the same. If you can update your parameters, confirm you're on SHA: 0296273, and then test again, let me know if the new parameters work as expected. The three parameters I ported over are under the Battery parameters page:

  • IONIQ6_VPWR
  • IONIQ6_HVBAT_SOC
  • IONIQ6_HVBAT_SOC_DISP
